After years of trying out different cajun cuisines, I've narrowed down my discoveries to the top 7 cajun restaurants in San Diego . In this article, I'll let you in on which ones I think are the best of the best.

From classic creole dishes to spicy Louisiana flavors, these restaurants will take you on a little southern journey. And while they're no replacement for realNew Orleans cuisine, they do a decent job of trying. So if you're looking for some good ol' fashioned cajun food, read on and join me as I explore San Diego's Cajun cuisine scene!

The interior of the restaurant is big, bright and bold. The walls are covered with art and the atmosphere feels like you've stepped right into a New Orleans bistro! The menu has all the classic cajun dishes including jambalaya, gumbo, crawfish étouffée, shrimp po’boys and more.

I had the pleasure of dining at Bud & Rob's recently and was blown away by their take on cajun cuisine. I started off with an order of crab cakes that were cooked to perfection and loaded with delicious flavor. The po' boys were also delicious; my favorite was the spicy blackened shrimp po’boy that arrived in fresh French bread topped with crisp lettuce, tomatoes and remoulade sauce – it was like a mini trip to Louisiana!

All in all, I highly recommend Bud & Rob's New Orleans Bistro for anyone looking for some of the best cajun food in San Diego !

The restaurant has a cozy and modern atmosphere with a great selection of cajun dishes. The shrimp etouffee was one of my favorites, but the fried catfish po'boy is definitely an honorable mention. It was cooked to perfection!

I also highly recommend the gumbo and crab cakes; their blend of spices and flavors make them stand out from the rest. I would also like to mention that they use fresh ingredients, which makes all their dishes even more enjoyable.

Overall, Louisiana Purchase offers some of the best cajun food in San Diego. The prices are also considerate, making it worth every dollar spent. This is a must-visit if you're ever in town looking for amazing cajun cuisine!

Their flavors are bold and invigorating. The spices in their shrimp gumbo have a perfect balance of heat and sweetness that is both comforting and stimulating. The crawfish etouffee is rich and thick, just like the traditional dish from Louisiana. And their blackened catfish is incredibly flavorful - the perfect combination of heat and lemon that really makes the fish stand out!

The restaurant itself has a cozy atmosphere, with friendly staff and attentive service. Plus, they always offer unique specials that can surprise you every time you visit.

Overall, Submarine Crab is my go-to place for the best cajun food in San Diego. Highly recommended!

Their dishes are truly something special, with a wide variety of options to choose from. I especially love their seafood boils and the flavors that come with it. Every time I've gone there I'm never disappointed and the seafood is always fresh.

The best part about The Boiling Crab though is definitely the atmosphere! It's so laid back and comfortable that you can feel the cajun vibes coming out from the inside.

All in all, if you're looking for a place to enjoy some of the best cajun food in San Diego then look no further than The Boiling Crab!

I have to say, the food at King's Fish House is phenomenal. From their fried crawfish to the gumbo, I can always find something that satisfies my cajun craving. The atmosphere is also incredibly inviting, with a friendly and helpful staff and great decor.

The prices here are really reasonable too. I've come for both lunch and dinner and found that the portions were generous and well worth the price.

I was looking for a place in San Diego that served authentic cajun food, and Crab Town certainly delivered. From the gumbo to the jambalaya and all the way to the crawfish etouffe, everything I tasted was excellent. The flavor combinations were amazing! Even better yet, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Not only do they serve up some of the best cajun food in town, but they also offer a wide selection of craft beers and cocktails as well. And if you're vegetarian, don't worry -- they have an impressive selection of veggie options as well!

Overall, Crab Town is an excellent option for anyone looking to enjoy a unique dining experience filled with delicious cajun flavors. Highly recommend!

Having plenty of experience with cajun foods, it was clear to me that Smitty's had the authentic taste and ingredients everyone desires when seeking out this type of cuisine. From their signature jambalaya to the gumbo, their dishes are always a delight to experience.

The atmosphere of Smitty's also adds to the appeal as you can really get into the cajun spirit with both the decor and fast-paced music playing in the background. The friendly staff helps create an enjoyable environment as well.

I have tried many different dishes from Smitty's Taste Of The Bayou and I'm never left feeling dissatisfied. Each time I visit, I'm reassured that this is some of the best cajun food in San Diego.
